Highest Skyscrapers of Dubai – The buildings with great architectural anatomy

Skyscrapers are now synonymous with Dubai. Designs used for these buildings are something of a futuristic era. Among the slew of skyscrapers, these few buildings are assessed to be the tallest.

Burj Khalifa

Where Dubai is concerned, one can't go much longer without mentioning Burj Khalifa, which has earned the sobriquet 'the world's tallest building'. It took five long years for the completion of this wonderful man-made structure – the project began in 2004 and was completed in October 2009 – the reports deem that it cost a whopping USD 1.5 billion. The grand opening ceremony was held on the 4th January 2010, and ever since, the building has been an element of fascination and a feature of Dubai's charm. What's more, the building is an integrand of Downtown Dubai.

Princess Tower

The tower used to bear the title 'the world's tallest residential building'. With a height that reaches 414 meters and 101 stories, Princess Tower has a total of 763 residential units, eight retail outlets and 957 parking bays. The tower's completion took a year longer than that of Burj Khalifa – the execution of the project began in 2006, and the project was completed in 2012.

23 Marina

Before the completion of Princess Tower, 23 Marina was styled with the title 'the tallest residential building'. The construction of the building was started in 2006, and the work came to an end in 2012. A part of Dubai Marina – upon the completion of the building – 23 Marina became the tallest residential building in the world. With 289 residential units and 90 stories, one can only conclude that it has taken some architectural expertise to be one of the significant buildings in Dubai.

Marina 101

The building boasts a standard height of 427 meters and was topped out in the year 2016. Designed with the expertise of the National Engineering Bureau, Marina 101 is regarded as a mix-use building. Though the official opening ceremony was held in 2016, it took another year for it to be up and running.

Palm Tower

Palm Jumeirah is the artificial archipelago in Dubai that has made headlines one too many times. As a major tourist attraction, it features many Palm Jumeirah hotels – the calibre of Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort – as well as the newest addition the Palm Tower. With 432 residential apartments and many resorts, the Palm Tower gives the man-made islands a new definition.

Elite Residence

Following the precedence set by Princess Tower and 23 Marina, Elite Residence became the tallest residential building in 2012. The building has 695 residential apartments spread over 87 stories. Among the amenities Elite Residence flaunts are swimming pools, reception areas, a gymnasium and several health clubs.

Almas Towers

With the initiation of Burj Khalifa, Almas Towers lost its status as the world's tallest buildings. Nonetheless, it is the tallest office building in the city. The tower is situated in its own man-made island in the middle of Jumeirah Lake Towers Free Zone. The work began in 2005 and was completed in 2009. With 68 stories and a height of 360 meters, Almas Towers stands alongside other significant buildings in the city.
