The plank is made primarily of hard domestic wood; most often it is an oak, but it is also made of ash, beech and birch. There is also a lot of parquet flooring made of hard exotic wood, usually from Africa and South America. Each plinth has sides and fores profiled with keyways and splines (feathers). There are less frequent staves in which there are grooves themselves; they are intended for connection to "foreign feathers". The smallest planks have a length of 20 cm, a width of 40 mm and a thickness of 14 mm. The largest, respectively: 50 cm, 80 mm and 22 mm.
