5 Tips Every Traveller Should Know Before Visiting Kuala Lumpur - Knowing is always better!

Kuala Lumpur is an exciting city without a doubt. However, it is also an interesting place where you'll be able to witness the old Asian world as it melds and grows into the highly developed cityscape that it is well known for. Here is a list of tips to help prepare yourself for a Kuala Lumpur trip.

1

Hotspots are clumped

While Kuala Lumpur might appear to be a mega city on a map, most must-see locations here are located fairly close by to each other. From the modern and very relevant shopping centres that are practically next door to one another in Bukit Bintang, to the street markets in Pasar Seni, it's all in the same vicinity and does not require long-distance trips to be explored. The only downside to that is having to carry around all your days' worth of shopping from one place to another. If you're looking for a hotel, Bukit Bintang has quite a number of excellent places to choose from, such as Travelodge Bukit Bintang for instance.

2

Prepare for Hot Weather

Malaysia is located right on the Equator, which makes it one of the most tropical and humid places on the entire planet. Couple this with the urban surroundings, Kuala Lumpur's weather being hot is pretty much a given. A good thing to keep in mind when you're packing is to bring as many summer clothes as you can, and when you're in KL, stop by the many eateries to cool down with a beverage every now and then.

3

Visit the Gardens

If you're craving an escape from the urban sights all around, the hustle and bustle of the city, head over to the nature reserves that are right in the centre of Kuala Lumpur. You need not venture off to far to check out some of Asia's gorgeous flora and fauna or get a breath of completely fresh air that's free of vehicle fume emissions. Plan to spend a few hours and explore other interesting attractions here like the KL Bird Park, KL Lake Gardens and even the KL Butterfly Park.

4

shop wisely

From ultra-cheap items in Sungei Wang to ultra-expensive luxury items in Pavilion, your options to explore for shopping are almost endless. The Golden Triangle of Kuala Lumpur is home to most of the flagship stores that carry all the big brands which are guaranteed to have your next pair of collectable designer shoes. On the other side of things, Pasar Seni is where you'll find Chinatown on Petaling Street. This little treasure trove has a vast collection of antiques and various different trinkets that can be quite interesting. Always remember to research your items to make sure you're getting your money's worth.

5

Visit the Night Markets

An absolute must when you're in Kuala Lumpur, visiting a night market is not something you'll ever regret. Also called Pasar Malam, here you'll be able to experience raw Southeast Asian life. From delicious street food to an array of knickknacks on a bargain, you'll find this unforgettable.
