Bangkok definitely has its charm when it comes to shopping and food, however, if you're looking for a serene getaway from the busy city, a beach might just be the perfect place. Here is a list of the best beaches near Bangkok.

Bang Saen

While Bang Saen might not be the most idyllic of the lot, it is quite probably one of the easiest to get to. Located a mere hour and a half away from Bangkok, Bang Saen is a very popular choice amongst locals who seek a little escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The sand is quite coarse but is definitely clean and well looked after by the many restaurants that line up all along the beach. Bang Saen is a great place to enjoy a nice quiet walk along the beach or to share a fresh seafood meal with a view. You can easily get here via a bus or by simply hailing a taxi. luxury Bangkok hotels are plentiful with many great options that you can pick from when you're staying in Bangkok, such as Chatrium Hotels & Residences for instance.

Koh Laan

As one of the small islands of the coast from Pattaya Beach, Koh Laan is a famous choice for a day trip. Featuring six beautiful beaches across its two-and-a-half-mile stretch of area, Koh Laan is excellent if you want to take part in jet skiing or riding a banana boat.

Hua Hin

Hua Hin is probably the most famous beach area amongst tourists. Here you'll come across families, backpackers, golfers and even budget travellers. What draws in most people here, is the fact that it is extremely easy to access from Bangkok. When it comes to food, you will find multiple American fast food outlets and coffee chains that you're familiar with. Amongst them are Thai spas and eateries as well. Stretching over three miles, Hua Hin's beach is very clean. A highly sought-after activity in the area is golfing as it features world-renown courses. Hua Hin is also home to plenty of holistic health centres that are rapidly gaining international recognition. Another highlight here is the handful of markets that are both colourful and diverse, what's great is that they are all within walking distance of the shore.

Ko Samet

With crystal clear waters and a delicious abundance of seafood dishes, Ko Samet is a must visit Island in Thailand. Additionally, if you're looking for an Island to visit in the weekend that hasn't been completely taken over by tourists, this is an ideal choice. Ko Samet is also home to a variety of excellent bars where you can check out evening fire shows while enjoying alcoholic buckets for a very fair price. Getting to Ko Samet can prove to be a little tricky though. Once you make your way to Ban Phe from Bangkok, you can catch a ferry that'll get you to Ko Samet under an hour, however, if you want something faster, you can opt for a speedboat which will be more expensive.
