Visit the Streets Beach

Beat the heat of Brisbane by hitting the Streets Beach. The beach boasts of a lagoon with azure water and lines of palm trees along the sandy beaches. It is completely safe to take a dip in the beach as it is monitored by lifeguards at all times. You can lay your beach towels and relax by the beach or head over to the Boat Pool to cut a few lapses. If you're travelling with kids, head over to the Aquativity water park.

Wander among the art at QAGOMA

QAGOMA (Queensland Art Gallery of Modern Art) has the best of both worlds. The gallery showcases contemporary art pieces of Australian and other artists of the Pacific and Asia. World-class exhibitions are held at the gallery which is often free, than not. Watch the best International films at the Australian Cinémathèque.

Shop at the farmer's markets

Everybody loves a visit to the farmer's market. In Brisbane, you find three markets which have the best artisan goods, meat, fruits and flowers. They are, the Saturday Davies Park Market, Jan Powers Powerhouse Markets and Jan Powers City Farmers Market at the CBD on Wednesdays. Take a ride to the top of the City Hall's Clock Tower

Until 1960, the clock tower of the City Hall was the tallest building in Brisbane. Now, during the working hours, you can take a free tour of the tower. There are tours happening every 15 minutes. Use the original lift and get a panoramic view of King George Square.
