The phenomenon is called bioluminescence a type of chemical reaction which takes place when oxygen disturbs the surface of the water. This beach is the perfect spot for those social media updates and is indeed quite magical to savour under the night sky; definitely, one of the most unique experiences to witness while in the Maldives.
