Top 5 Cafes in Hong Kong - No better start to your day!

Hong Kong has an incredibly vivid coffee culture. With speciality cafes popping up on every corner, it is now a breeding ground for coffee connoisseurs. Here's a list of the best cafés in Hong Kong.

1

Arabica

Currently located in Kennedy Town, % Arabica initially opened shop in Discovery Bay back in 2013. Even though it was widely featured, the store did have to close up and move to Kyoto. This however led to its popularity and eventual global expansion with 29 branches all across the world. The Kennedy Town branch of % Arabica is one of the most stylishly designed. Here you'll find some of the best coffee, served with an incredible view of the harbourside. Besides the usual espresso, highlights here include its match latte and Spanish latte.

2

18 Grams

Found in Tsim Sha Tsui, Sha Tin and Sheung Wan, it's almost impossible to believe that this café initially opened its doors as small espresso bar in Causeway Bay. 18 Grams, under the management of a world-class barista judge, is popular for their fresh coffee beans that are roasted locally. Their espresso-based coffee not only created the coffee scene in Hong Kong but dominates it as well. Head on over to Canon Street so that you could witness where it all began while sipping on what is widely considered to be a perfect cup of coffee.

3

Amber Coffee Brewery

Located in Sheung Wan, while Amber Coffee Brewery is a recent addition to the area's already packed list of coffee shops, it is one that stands out. Amber is famous for introducing a variety of eccentric coffee creations by Dawn Chan, an award-winning barista who is also a two-time champion of the Hong Kong Barista Championship. While it also converts into a wine bar towards the evening, it is mainly famous for its coffee. Highlights here include its speciality house black coffee served in hand-painted cups as well as its pineapple juice infused cold brew.

4

Artisan Garden Café

Famous amongst most Instagram savvy millennials, Artisan Garden Café is quite the popular location in Shek Tong Tsui. The café is home to a lovely and cosy indoor space that includes a wall that is completely decorated with Fire-King mugs. More popular though is the café's outdoor patio area. This charming little café includes a fantastic menu that features amazing brews. Highlights here include their waffles with buttermilk fried chicken as well as their finely brewed coffee. If you're on the lookout for hotels in Hong Kong Island Central, you'll find many amazing options, such as the Lan Kwai Fong Hotel for instance.

5

Brook's Café

What started out as a simple tea shop all the way in Tokyo back in 1968, today Brook's Café has opened its doors in Wan Chai, serving delicious and absolutely beautiful Japanese inspired desserts and drinks. Some of the best items to try on the menu are the fantastically rich Blue Mountain drip coffee and its delicious matcha floats. You can easily escape all the hustle and bustle of the Wan Chai and head over to this underground café for an unforgettable treat.
