Essentials for a beach day out – Things you need to throw into your baggage

When the summertime begins, the only thing anyone can think of is hitting the beach. Be it with your kids or your partner; your supposed fun day-out can turn out to be garish if you are not prepared.

1

To avoid sun-chafed skin

ake sunscreen with you. Your beach holiday can be quite hellish if you forget the sunscreen. In addition to having a remedy for sunburns, skin cancer is something you need to be concerned about – the scorching sunrays are a catalyst for that! Before setting out on your holiday, buy a sunscreen with SPF – the higher the number, the better and your complexion doesn't play a big part in it.

2

The first-aid pouch

Don't forget your first-aid pouch if you are travelling to Passikudah. You will be provided with first aid kits at hotels in Passikudah – but to be on the safe side, take your own first aid kit with you.

3

Towels

At a hotel of the same category as Amethyst Resort Pasikudah, you will be equipped with all things like beach towels. However, pack your bag with as many small beach towels as you can. If you are travelling with small kids, beach towels are absolutely necessary.

4

Bug repellent

Having bug spray with you as important as having sunscreen. Beaches are often raided by mosquitos, ticks and sand fleas. So, to avoid rushing into your hotel room in the midst of your day out, throw a bottle of bug spray into your bag!

5

Water bottles

This is quite obvious as you are planning to spend a day in the sultry heat. The heat in the Asian countries can quite dry you out. Bring your own water bottles to keep clear of dehydration and also to cut down on sugary drinks!

6

Snacks

No one would argue that a day at the beach is a lot of fun, but it could be pretty tiring too. The trick is in the preparing. So, take as many munchies as your baggage would allow to keep the energy levels up.

7

Ziplock bags

To protect your dry clothes from mixing up with wet clothes, have some zip lock bags with you. These are pretty handy when it comes to keeping certain items separate in your baggage.

8

Clothes

There are some items of clothing you need to have with you if you are heading out to the beach. Swimsuits, flip-flops, water shoes, one or two extra clothes, hats, swim diapers, sunglasses and sweatshirts are among the essentials.

9

Other necessary items

There are a few other items that are deemed necessary. Needless to say, you shouldn't bring your cell phone with you as there's a risk of it being stolen – but if you want to listen to music – as many obviously would – bring your mp3 player with you. Also, if you are a female, bring your everyday feminine products with you. Furthermore, it's best if you have hand wipes, sanitizers, hair brushes, hair ties and beach chairs were thrown into the bargain.
