Johor Bahru is a cultural centre of Malaysia and people often visit the city to explore its museums, temples, mosques and palaces. Having said that, Johor is also a perfect place for a family vacation. Here is a list of the best places you can take your children to.

Angry Birds Theme Park

Remember the time when angry birds were all the rage? Well, Malaysia made a theme park dedicated to the game. Children who have their own iPads to play games will be excited to visit this park. This is one of the major attractions here, and families come from places like Singapore to have an exciting time. Some rides here include Lazer Bird Shoot, Go! Kart Track, Parkour Track and Foam Pit. The place opens at 10 AM and closes around 10 PM.

Legoland Theme Park

This is the most well-known attraction in this city. If you want the 'world's best parents award' from your kids, take them to Legoland in Johor Bahru. They will love it here. There are so many rides inspired after legos, interactive games, and even fun live shows. These will entertain your family for hours at end. People from all around Malaysia and even Singapore come to visit the Legoland. The place is open from 10 AM and closes at 6 PM. Pasar Karat

The Pasar Karat is a popular night market in Johor. Kids love an 'after the hours' activity. The night market is the perfect place to take them. You might head to the market thinking you might not buy anything, but don't be surprised when you keep buying and chugging things into your bag. The market sells affordable clothes, food and antiques, among several other items. The night market is open from 6 PM and closes at midnight.

Austin Heights Water and Adventure Park

If you want to spend the day without many crowds, then the Austin Heights Water and Adventure Park will be an ideal place to go as opposed to spots like Legoland. Although the place isn't much crowded doesn't mean you won't be having a fun time here. There is a great blend of activities which include a trampoline park, aerial obstacle courses, drift track, and obviously an incredible waterpark. As there are so many activities in the park you might need more than a day to fully explore it. The park opens at 10 AM and closes at 7 PM.

Pasir Gudang Kite Festival

If you are travelling to Johor in February, then you must take your family to the kite festival that is held annually here. Every year more than one hundred and fifty thousand people arrive at Johor to witness this spectacle. Both local enthusiasts and international ones arrive in this city from countries like China, Singapore, Indonesia, France, and England. Don't miss out on it!
