Here is a list of lesson plans on the 8 must have skills for 21st century learning for 4th grade students.

Leadership

This resource is a compiled list of five lesson plans for grade 3-5 on being a leader. These lessons are quick and simple yet powerful for our young leaders. These lessons will be sure to empower our students to be the best leaders they can be.

Digital Literacy

This lesson plan is targeted toward grades 3-5 graders. This lesson teaches students how to evaluate reliable sources on the internet. With the way that today's society is moving, this is an important skill that students need to learn early on in school.

Communication

This lesson is a great resource to use when teaching about how people communicate. Different activities such as "telephone" and "charades" are used on this lesson. This helps teach our students the importance of of communication as well as the different types of communication.

Emotional Intelligence

This lesson is a great lesson on emotional intelligence. This lesson teachers students about positive self talk. A lot of students struggle with thinking or talking positively about themselves and then they begin to doubt their performance. The students even get to create a bookmark with a positive affirmation to remind them how great they are each and every day.

Entrepreneurship

This awesome website provides interactive lesson plans for students to become an entrepreneur! Students review data about a fictional town, and develop a plan to establish a new business based on this data. Students consider what products or services are already being offered and identify opportunities for a new business. How awesome is that?

Global Citizenship

This lesson from TeachUNICEF is a great resource to teach your students about global citizenship. This lesson aims to introduce the concept of global citizenship and educate students about universal human rights. *Note: you have to create a free account to gain access to this lesson plan but I promise, the free account is worth it!

Problem Solving

This lesson plan is centered around the online game Quandary. In Quandary, players make difficult decisions that have no clear right or wrong answers, but important consequences – to themselves, to others in the colony, and to the planet Braxos. Students will have fun while learning about problem solving!

Team Working

We all know the saying, "Teamwork makes the dream work!" so why not teach our students the importance of working together in and out of the classroom. This lesson allows students to define teamwork in their own terms. This is so important because it can help students understand the term in their own way.
