5 Easy Tips To Survive Life Without A Mobile Phone

Have you ever been in a situation when you couldn't use your mobile phone? Did you by any chance feel completely helpless and impotent? I can assure you we've all had that painful experience, where we are forced to swallow our pride and actually ask another human being for help. Here are 5 ways that will help set you free from your phone.

Set it free!

When you're going out with friends, do this: Ask everyone to put their phones down on the table or a basket. The rules are simple; no one touches their phone until the end of the night. The first one to touch his or her phone is the one to pay the bill.

"Break up with your phone".

Get some distance. Click that "Do Not Disturb" button and put your phone in your bag or away from you. Calls and notifications will be silenced while your phone is locked. You can schedule "Do Not Disturb" and allow calls from certain people. Don't let things such as social media be the first thing you look at in the morning, and of course don't fall asleep with it at night. Instead, have a notebook aside you for the morning. You can write down anything that's on your mind. This boosts up your creativity and is a much better alternative.

Download ‘Checky’ to find out how many times per day you check your phone

Restrict yourself. Download an app so that you are able to monitor yourself. When you see the feedback it will make you put things into perspective. Over a period of time you notice that you check your phone less and less every day and that will encourage you to go forward. You will be pleased with yourself when you see yourself improving each day.

Pull the plug on all notifications.

When you’re trying to study or focus on what you’re working on, there’s nothing more distracting then those nasty notifications that manage to crawl to your screen. And of course, you can’t help but shift you eyes towards them. Well, that will be no more. You can put an end to it by going to settings, notifications, and switching them all off. With that, you can finally work in peace.

Don't be shy. Ask for help. This could be a good resouse if your phone is dead or lost.

You'll be surprised at how friendly people can be if you ask them for a guiding hand. You might immediately be tempted to go on Google Maps and look up how to get to a certain place if you happen to get lost, but what if your battery dies? What if you don't have your phone at that moment? With those scenarios, there is another way. Look around you. There are plenty of people you can go up to and simply ask. This is a great way of boosting your confidence up, making yourself more approachable to others, and in some cases, it could be an opportunity of making a new friend along your way. If not, then there are always sign boards on the road.
