Content Search Web Part displays search results in a way that you can easily format. Each Content Search Web Part is associated with a search query and shows the results for that search query.
You can use display templates to change how search results appear on the page. Display templates are snippets of HTML and JavaScript that render the information returned by SharePoint. The information to be displayed gets inserted into the page in JSON format.
It's now easy to brand a site using the new Design Manager.
SharePoint 2013 now offers a new option for crawling, which is continuous Crawl and makes sure all your indexes are up to date!
The User Profile AD import now imports the profiles up to 6 times faster!
Activity feeds now allow other users to interact with updates, like in Facebook.
Community Sites are brand new and all about getting people to discuss a topic.
When it was moved to the Ribbon in 2010 this caused lots of problems when you have more than one web part on a page - now its back next to the list.
This is going to be big.... eventually.
