Activities that would make Phuket the Ideal Family Holiday Travel Destination

Vacations are your reward for all the hard work that you put in during the rest of the year and a way to reclaim some family time that is taken away from you. However, while it can be hard sometimes to find activities at your destination for the whole family, this is not the case in Phuket!

1

Surf House Phuket

If you're a surfing enthusiast and cannot wait to catch the waves while on vacation, but are being held back by the kids, then fear not, because Surf House, Phuket will take care of you! Located at the Kata Beach, this facility has a high-pressure wave generator that flushes water up to a sloping pool. Beginners and Pros alike can have fun here, trying to beat the never-ending waves. But the area is divided into sections to provide amateur surfers with a safe space as well as a tougher ride for the pro surfers looking for a challenge. Once you're done battling the waves, you can always sit at the restaurant/Café with its bamboo trimmings and sip a cool beverage while you gear up for the next wave.

2

Patong Go-Kart Speedway

For the hopeful NASCAR or even Formula 1 drivers, this race track is the perfect spot! Located at the foot of the Patong Hill, complete with a 750 m race track with curves and barriers and a bar/restaurant for you to chill out at, this race track is open to kids and adults alike. Safety is a number 1 priority and plenty of safety measures are in place to help you along this track – apart from barriers safety gear is a compulsory feature. While the track is open to kids as well if yours is too young to drive you can always take a passenger on yours as you drive. If the race track is not your speed then you can always ride a buggy on an off-track route that they have just for those of you who wish to try a different scene.

Zorbing

A recent addition to the activities at Kalim Beach, the Zorbing track here is a whopping 190m hill track and is one of the world's longest. Climb inside flexible man-size plastic balls and experience the adrenaline rush of rolling down the hill. This Kiwi-born activity is perfect for Phuket with its multiple hills. You can always spice your game up by trying to knock out other zorbs as you rush down the mountainside. There is, of course, a bar that serves soft drinks and beer where you can refresh yourself. For a small nominal fee, you can even take home a video of yourself rolling down the hill in a giant plastic ball!

4

Splash Jungle Water Park

Featuring 12 spectacular water slides, and conveniently located near Phuket International Airport, the Splash Jungle Water Park is a fun-filled water park that will entertain everyone in your family. From exciting rides like the Boomerango where you are propelled up a vertical wall after a drop from a tube to finally splash into the pool below, or the Superbowl ride where you swirl around in tubes before you hit the water to the more sedate 335 m Lazy River on which you can float like royalty, this park will leave you wanting for nothing!

5

Phuket Trickeye Museum

Ever seen those amazing illusion artwork that tricks you into thinking that there's really a crevasse in the middle of the road? Entering through an illusory painting of the old Phuket Town Street, you emerge into a hall with the world's most famous paintings, but all with cheeky, illusory twists on them. Following the French with their trompe l'oeil, the museum slowly progresses into various scenarios with which that perfect photo is achievable.
