4 Reasons Why Singapore Should be in your Bucket List – don't miss out on these amazing experiences

Singapore is an amazing country filled with a vibrant culture, delicious food, and endless activities to try. Here are four reasons why Singapore should be on your bucket list.

1

The nightlife

While most people have this image of Singapore being a sterile, all work and no play environment, it is actually far from the truth. When it comes to nightlife in Singapore, the city transforms itself within a matter of hours from a financial centre to a lively network of fashionable nightclubs and trendy bars. After a long day at work, locals head over to the vibrant bars around Clarke Quay for a quick drink, while tourists flock to the many rooftop bars which offer stunning views over the iconic city, and even better cocktails. The country also has an array of lively pubs and sports bars that are ideal for chilling with an ice-cold beer. Furthermore, because everything is so centralized, you can easily hit up more than a few bars and nightclubs in one night, and then head off to Chinatown for early morning breakfast.

2

Gardens by the Bay

It is hard to describe the beauty and intricate detailing that has gone into creating this spectacular garden. Gardens by the Bay is a massive and vibrant futuristic-styled park which is located near the Marina Bay area. The enormous supertrees are one of the main attractions here, rising over 9-stories tall, they are connected by a walkway which provides panoramic views over the gardens, the domed greenhouses, and the adjacent waterfront. The climate-controlled greenhouses are home to a variety of plants and trees from around the world, as well as flora endemic to Singapore. Exploring the gardens is free to visitors but if you want to enter the greenhouses or admire the supertrees up close, you will have to pay a small charge.

3

The Food

Singapore is a foodie's haven! Eating out here is much cheaper than buying groceries so street food vendors and cafes can be found on nearly every corner. There's also a wide variety of international cuisine available ranging from Indian curries, and Arabic platters to American diner food and traditional English gastropub food. Of course, there's also the local Chinese and Malay cuisine that you must try – from savoury congee to noodle soups and the famous Hainanese chicken rice. There are plenty of affordable restaurants here and food courts, but to really eat like the locals, visit the hawker centres that serve up hearty plates of tasty food for as low as 2 Singaporean dollars.

4

The shopping

Travellers in search of great deals will love shopping in Singapore. For high street shopping, head over to the famed Orchard Road, a 2km long street where you will find designer brands, famous malls, boutique stores and upmarket restaurants that cater to a variety of tastes. The best part is that it is conveniently located near several hotels like Park Hotel Group, for example, so you can make the most of online hotel deals and spend more on your shopping.
