Trip to the Hide Away at the secret Buddha Garden

Formerly a privately owned house and garden which belonged to Nim Thongsuk and his family, and he started placing various Buddha statues around his garden and the land owned by them. The garden is hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the city from the lush green surrounding. The path leading to the peak is a rough road and is quite a task unless you have a 4 wheel drive. Once you are there you are able to enjoy a panoramic view of the entire island.

Big Buddha Temple

Visiting the Big Buddha temple in Koh Samui is a must-do activity in the list of things to do in Koh Samui. This is the most well-known landmark and tourist attraction on the island due to its stunning 12 meter tall Buddha statue in a seating position. Due to the size and the location, the Buddha statue is the first you notice as you fly into the island.

Visit Hin Ta and Hin Yai

This is a sightseeing location with a picturesque view but the unusual rock formations are the main attraction here. There are two rocks that have taken the shape of male and female genitalia and legend has it that this was due to the tragedy that stuck to a couple who went to sea to a neighbouring island to look for a bride for their son. Most Koh Samui hotels are located in the vicinity so you need not to make special arrangements to visit this location.

Visit the temple at Wat Plai Laem

Apart from the many different temples that are in Thailand this temple is significant as it is fairly new but has been built according to the age-old traditional practices. The main attraction at the temple is an 18 arm statue of Guanyin who is known as the goddess of mercy and compassion. There are devotees who come to the temple on a daily basis. The temple is surrounded by a lake from all sides which makes it an absolutely picturesque location.
