#RSJ108

Tweet by Catherine Schofield(@Cooking_Catfish)

This semester in #RSJ108 has been very tough, but I've learned a lot about #design! One of the things I struggled with most was color because it's so important. To finish this year I wanted to remind everyone about #spring with my colors, and how everything will blossom soon! https://t.co/foAIwiwtj7

This was my final lab tweet for this semester. I used one of the most important concepts that I learned in this course and demonstrated it by using some of the skills I gained through this course. This includes the use of Photoshop, text adaptors, and most importantly, color!

#Easter is right around the corner! But that means a lot of #rabbits will be given without people learning what they need.
Before you get a rabbit take the time to learn how to care for them! @Houserabbit has great tips on adopting and caring for bunnies.
Here are my two 🐇🐇 https://t.co/O4FCxsf5JD

This was the tweet that got the most likes of all my tweets this semester. It also was replied to by the House Rabbit Society, which was the account I tagged in this tweet.

This is Derek! I met him at @Starbucks this afternoon. Guess we both needed a caffeine boost.
#HumansofUNR @carenroblin #rsj108 https://t.co/mO6veJj7lk

This tweet forced me to go out of my comfort zone and meet someone new! It can be hard to talk to strangers, but this class forced me to and I was able to use what I learned about talking to strangers and interviewing them to work up the courage and meet someone new.

Sea levels are rising and the data doesn't lie! #GlobalWarming is happening, but we can all help to fix it. The @NRDC has some awesome ways you can help heal the planet!

#RSJ108 https://t.co/7qH94LZim5

This tweet shows the skills I gained in JOUR 108 about data interpretation. Journalists usually have lots of data they must interpret and present to people in an easily readable format. This tweet allowed me to find a way to make the graph easy to read, and interesting as well.

I'm an avid reader and writer so this quote really speaks to me! @austinkleon wrote the book he wanted to see, and hopefully I will too. #NaNoWriMo is still pretty far away, but it's always good to start planning!
#RSJ108 @carenroblin https://t.co/BJIZPXqmXK

This was a lab image tweet where we were able to basically do what we wanted. It was very free so I was able to show different skills I learned in JOUR 108. I used Adobe Color to create a compound color palette that I enjoyed, and I was able to present the quote in a tasteful way using the design rules and guidelines we had learned in class.

It's #PiDay and that got me thinking of some of my favorite pie memories! By far the best time I've ever had with pie was with my @GSNorCal troop when we would serve pie every Thanksgiving at a local church. Here's a #tbt to pie serving 2016 & 2017! What's your favorite pie? https://t.co/OpgSJIRDrE

This tweet was fun for me to make, and it also got a reply from the account I tagged, Girl Scouts of Northern California. It brought together something lots of people knew about, pi day, and something about me, Girl Scouts.

March is #WomensHistoryMonth and @MichelleObama is a woman that will definitely go down in history! This is one of my favorite quotes from her that shows how powerful women can be!
#RSJ108 @carenroblin https://t.co/Vmh7IXXkbu

This tweet shows a technique we learned in class that expands our social media presence by tagging a well-known person in our tweets. I think that this tweet was very good at being timely and relevant since I incorporated Women's History Month as well as Michelle Obama, who is a respected and well-known woman.

Learning about logos and branding in #RSJ108 this week. This quote from #PaulRand is giving me something to think about as I'm moving forward designing my brand!
@carenroblin https://t.co/IzMwbL9BfI

This was the first tweet where I was using lots of layers in Illustrator and making it more complicated. It took a lot of effort to add that gradient!

Come on by the @unevadareno KC to pet some therapy #dogs with the @Take5UNR program. Destress and stay pawsitive!
#RSJ108 @carenroblin https://t.co/pR0flqhzBW

This unassigned tweet got more likes than most of my tweets. That's probably because it features dogs. While the pictures aren't the best, I think that it gives context to the tweet.

Always learning something new in #RSJ108 this semester! I'm slowly getting the hang of @Illustrator and thought this was the perfect quote for #MotivationMonday this week. Always keep designing.
@carenroblin https://t.co/4RTFiUwb5w

This image was inspired by one of the lectures in JOUR 108 about how designers impact the community. I think this is a good thing to remember both as a designer and as a consumer.

Sundays are for the boys. Having a #DnD session with @that_1_guy_15 @Nate__Vaz and Ryan!
#RSJ108 @carenroblin https://t.co/z3x535yxGj

This was the first unassigned tweet that I really liked. I think that the photo is interesting and shows clearly that we were having fun!

A #ValentinesDay2019 quote from #Heartless by @marissa_meyer. My favorite book from her by far!
#RSJ108 @carenroblin https://t.co/Z1j9FduQdy

This was the first image I made using Adobe Illustrator! It's simple, but I was very proud of it.

Today marks three months after the #CampFire destroyed my home town of #ParadiseCA. I brushed off my @Photoshop skills to create something for my town.
#RSJ108 @carenroblin https://t.co/wz7K2UkZDQ

This tweet was important to me since it marked three months after the Camp Fire. I was able to use my Photoshop skills from JOUR 108, particularly using different layers, to create this piece for my town.

Keeping this in mind for the new semester! @mattnathanson is keeping my playlists full.
#RSJ108 #SomeMadHope @carenroblin @DisruptiveDESGN https://t.co/LkigzXlQ32

This was my first tweet in JOUR108! It got me started in the long journey of photo editing.
