Freepik - Search engine for free graphics on the web

Freepik is probably the best known search engine for free graphics on the web. You’ll find thousands of designs for almost every topic there. Their stock includes vectors, stock images, and PSDs, although not SVGs or PNGs.

Site has also got premium graphic designs for subscribers and offers licenses to use their graphics on a variety of projects. You can’t purchase only one graphic though, a monthly or yearly subscription is mandatory.

Pros: Large collection of images, variety of designs, photography stock included, lots of free-with-attribution designs.

Cons: Has no image editor, lacks SVGs and PNGs, only has subscription option available.

PixaBay offers up a selection of photographer-donated images that are of wonderful quality (some aren’t free, so just keep an eye out).

Textures.com is a website that offers digital pictures of all sorts of materials. We have pictures of fabrics, wood, metal, bricks, plastic, and many more. These images are called textures and can be used for graphic design, visual effects, in computer games and any other situation where you need a nice pattern or background image.

It’s right there in the name: Free Vector is a great resource for graphic designers and publishers, among others. Free Vector hosts a collection of images, with a particular emphasis on graphics. Like any website, be sure to read the licensing agreement before using an image. While many images are free to use for personal use (as long as attribution is given), many images require a premium membership if you are planning to use them commercially.

When it comes to high quality, editable vector art, Stockio has got you covered. As well as these free assets, you'll also find stunning professional photos, icons and videos. If you create an account with Stockio you'll be able to keep track of your downloaded files thanks to a handy personalised portfolio.

While there aren’t any free downloads available on iStock, if you can afford the designs they’re worth it. You’ll find plenty of options for whatever keyword you write, every time. There’s quite a range of vectors and pictures, as well as videos and audio clips.

You can become a subscriber or purchase credits to exchange for graphics. Plus, the site’s a delight to browse, very well designed and fast loading.

Pros: Lots of designs, stock includes videos and audio clips, editor in beta.

Cons: No free downloads available.

Freedesignfile’s a stock that offers vectors, pictures, fonts and even Photoshop actions. Yes, all of that! It’s not the biggest stock out there, and their scope and quality isn’t always great, but it can become your one-stop site to get every resource you need.

Plus, most of their stuff is free and when a design is made from another site it’ll have a link to download it from the original creators. Keep an eye out for the Attribution requirements.

Pros: Free downloads, range of formats.

Cons: Has no editor, doesn’t include merchandise license.

VectorStock's main business is a library of reasonably priced vector imagery, but as a handy aside it also boasts a substantial collection of free vectors. They're all available in EPS format, and it's nice and easy to create an account and start downloading.

One of the largest artist communities on the web, DeviantArt is full of free and useful resources, including vectors. However, finding exactly what you're after in the crowd of chaos can be tricky. Vector.Me has a lot of free vectors. Simply enter your keywords, hit search and browse until you find what you’re looking for.
You can search through vectors, logos and icons and there’s more than 280,000 to choose from all in AI, EPS, SVG and CDR formats.

Shutterstock is one of the renowned vector website best known for image stocks on the market. It offers an overwhelming variety of designs, pictures, videos, audio and even an online editor for the images, but there’s no free option available.

You can either purchase individual images or subscriptions. You can also search by image to find similar graphics to one that you upload. Shutterstock has a vast stock where you can find anything you need, if you can afford it.

Pros: Lots of high-quality designs, stock also has videos and audio clips.
