As mobile phone sales grow and new innovations emerge in the markets, the sale of phone cases also increases. According to a survey conducted by NDP in 2013, 75% of smartphone owners have housing for their phone. They also report some other interesting discoveries
As you can see, the phone cases are an essential tool for many smartphone owners. The motivations for buying casings are very different: some people emphasize practicality and protection, while others are more interested in a casing that represents their personal style. In fact, in the same survey it was found that 5 main groups of people can be distinguished that buy phone cases:
So much is the interest of consumers that even high fashion brands like Louis Vuitton are getting into the design of covers (ENG), positioning the phone cases not only as a practical technological accessory but also as a fashion statement. With housing, your phone can be easily customized and used to express your personality.
Through Zepper Store, you can enter the market for phone cases and create covers with your own designs. The next section of this publication covers the details about the phone covers and the Zepper Store printing process and includes tips for creating graphics.
First, let's take a close look at the housing itself. For now, Zepper Store has covers designed for various models of iPhone, Samsung, Redmi, Oppo, Vivo, Lenovo, Motorola, OnePlus, etc. That more models and brands are added will depend on the popularity of the phone and the demand of consumers, so stay tuned to the news.
The Zepper Store covers are thin, lightweight and made of polycarbonate. They do not cover the screen, but they will protect the back of the phone from scratches. They are one piece with solid plastic construction and the holes and buttons are aligned with the features of the phone.
It is important to say that these cases are not shockproof. Therefore, while they can protect your phone from minor wear, do not count on being indestructible or with that they will avoid serious damage. They are intended primarily for aesthetic purposes.
The first step for each carcass ordered is to approve the graphics; If the graphics match our guidelines, the order is sent to print. Before printing, a trained technician makes sure that the printer does not have lint or dust. Next, a white base and a colored top layer are printed simultaneously using UV printing technology. Once the carcasses are completed, they are placed in boxes with bubble protection and sent.
UV printing basically dries the ink through a photochemical reaction. High-intensity ultraviolet lights are used to cure or dry inks, converting them from liquid to solid. UV printing is commonly used to print on materials such as plastic, wood, and metal.
We do not recommend printing combinations of opaque and transparent elements. This is because the contrast between the solid colors (which are printed with a white base) and the transparent colors (without the white base) is evident. In some cases, it may give the impression that the final result has faults and/or that the colors were not printed correctly. This is especially noticeable with white and lighter shades, so be especially careful with those colors. The best thing you can do is ask for samples to test the result.
Keep in mind that transparent colors look very different from opaque colors. Take a look at the photos from the previous example to get an idea.
When editing transparent colors in Photoshop, it will refer to "opacity". Transparency and opacity are inverse to each other: 100% transparent equals 0% opaque and vice versa. For example, if you have a graphics and want a 25% transparency, in Photoshop it will appear with an opacity of 75%.
As always, we recommend ordering samples to make sure the housings come out the way you want. This also applies to housings without transparency; You should always see a sample of your product before marketing it.
You do not have to fill Mobile Cover all the space with your design. What is transparent in your print file will be clear and you can see the phone through the casing.
If you want to create a graphic where the parts of the housing are clear, keep in mind the Apple logo and the location of the text. You can see it, so it can affect the appearance of your design.
The graphics do not involve the entire casing, so the sides will also be transparent. This is great because it gives you a bit of both world: you can present your incredible designs, but you also do not completely cover the design of the phone.
Make sure you follow the guidelines when creating your print files since that is what the compliance team refers to print your products. It is possible that a print file that does not match our guidelines does not result in the look you are looking for. These are the essential points you have to remember when creating your print files:
