Can I use seasoned but wet (from snow) wood for my wood stove?

Wet, or "green" wood should never be used. Only well seasoned hard woods, and pressed logs should be burned. If wet wood is burned it will produce less heat, not burn as efficiently, and produce more creosote.

Wet, or "green" wood should never be used. Only well seasoned hard woods, and pressed logs should be burned. If wet wood is burned it will produce less heat, not burn as efficiently, and produce more creosote. It can also rust the steel due to very high heat humidity that is normally not found inside the stove. Wet wood will also cause the glass to darken.
