Lushan National Park

A mysterious and an almost magical fog cover the mountains of the Lushan National Park. You can ask your agent to book a Lushan hot spring hotel closer to the park to have easy access to explore it better. Take a hike across the park to discover its rock formations, waterfalls, grottos and above all the mystical mountains. You'll get to see Buddhist, Confucian and Taoist buildings along the way. Once you've explored the park at length make your way to a hotel such as the Lushan Resort for a refreshing meal and a well-deserved rest.

Heaven Lake

China's 'Nessie' supposedly hides in the Heaven Lake in the Changbaishan National Nature Reserve. The nature reserve covers about four square miles and the 'Heaven Lake Monster' is a popular legend. Since the year 1903, people have been reporting several sightings and even attacks by the monster. Some even say that a family of monsters lives in the lake. The veracity of these reports is hard to define but you can surely enjoy a tour to the Changbaishan National Nature Reserve to take a look at the famous lake and feel the mystery in the air. You may even catch a glimpse of the lake monster's ghostly form.

Shennongjia Forest

The 800,000 acres forest in eastern Hubei Province is shrouded in mystery and wonder Called the Shennongjia Forest, the vast woodland is said to be the home of "Yeren", the Chinese version of 'Yeti' (Big Foot). 'Yeren' is also called the 'man-monkey of Shennongjia'. But he is not the only mysterious inhabitant of the area as many claims to have seen various other monsters and even UFOs hovering around. Tempting as it may sound to explore the Shennongjia Forest on your own, just don't do it. You will get lost. Take an experienced guide along with you on your adventure.

Shicheng City

Submerged in the waters of the Qiandao Lake, Shicheng was once the epicentre of politics and culture of the Sui'an County of Zhejiang. In 1959, the city met its watery death during the building of the Xin'an River Hydropower Station. The city was rediscovered in 2001 after 40 years in a remarkably well-preserved shape. You can gear up and dive into the depth of water to go back in time. You can take a good look at what a city looked like about half a century ago. You can reach Shicheng City by travelling about 100 miles west to Hangzhou City.

The Baigong Pipes

Once thought to be ancient or even alien plumbing, the Baigong Pipes were recently revealed as fossilized ancient tree roots. Located near Mount Baigong, these actually look like metallic plumbing from a long-forgotten era. Mount Baigong is situated about 25 miles southwest of Delingha (a city) in Qinghai. The tree roots are worth a visit and you can, of course, enjoy the beauty of the region.
