Some great websites to use with your kids.
This site gives a new maths problem every day. It provides a little information about different topics and then poses a maths question. There are three different levels of questions and the thing that I like is that they use word questions, which requires different thinking skills.
Storybird is a site that allows children to create their own stories using professional artwork. It is a great way to excite their imaginations and they are also able to read the creations of others.
This website allows you to reasonably easily create your own interactive stories (the more complex stuff would be at adult level but simple stuff the kids could do). If you've ever read a "pick a path" type story then you know what kind of story I am talking about. This is a lot of fun!
This is a very simple maths game where you just have to decide whether a maths equation is correct or not. It gets harder as you go along and if the equations reach the top of the screen you are toast. Also an android app.
This is a rhyming dictionary that could be very useful when composing poetry. Type in a word and it will give you the definition, let you hear the word aloud and then supply a bunch of words that rhyme with it (unless you type in "hospital" which has it stumped!).
