New years resolutions are notorious for failing. Some people make it a few months, but many don’t make it past the first week. By the end of 2012, only 8 percent of people were successful in achieving their resolution.
We’re a couple weeks into the New Year, but it’s not to late to begin resolutions or revise
Notice I didn’t say give up soft drinks or alcohol. If your body is addicted to these drinks it’s not going to appreciate you going cold turkey. Simply start drinking those drinks in moderation, while adding more water to your diet.
You don’t have to live at the gym. There are some days you will be so busy that it’s impossible to make it. Find other ways to exercise by doing the activities you enjoy, or ones that you have to do regardless. Take the stairs at work, ski the beautiful Utah mountains or play a game of catch with your kid.
Schedule suggested medical appointments early. An easy way to do this is by going through your calendar, and planning appointments now. You’ll thank yourself for this later.
Not every day, but on weekends or special occasions. Cutting out sugar is one of the most failed new years resolutions. The thought of zero sugar seems almost impossible for most. The best solution is to eat it in moderation.
You can’t avoid your responsibilities, but you can stop procrastinating. If you’re in college get your assignments done ahead of time. If you are working complete projects days before the deadline. This will save you a lot of time and worry.
