There are so many different things that you can do while you are in Brisbane and here is a list of the 10 best things to do while you are there.


Streets Beach

When there are so many natural beaches a manmade beach becomes quite an attraction and the Streets Beach is a great example. Popular among both the locals and the tourists, the Streets Beach is a great place to go to where you can lie down on a towel or dip your feet in the water and soak up the sun.


Museum of Brisbane

Located on the 4th floor of the Brisbane City Hall the Museum of Brisbane gives a great detail of information about the residents and the history. There are displays of art by famous artists, historic ceramics and even power-point presentations to give further information on certain aspects. If you are residing at a hotel like the Oaks Charlotte Towers you can get a tour arranged in order to cover all the details.


Walk Brisbane

Walk Brisbane is initiated by a group of volunteers who are wearing red t shirts and greeting everyone with a smile and taking small groups of tourists around the city to show them interesting places, teach them cool facts and educate them of different things about Brisbane that you might have missed otherwise.


Brisbane by bicycle

Not much of a walker? No problem, they have you covered as you can take a similar tour around the city on a bicycle and while you get to know the city you can double up on some exercise.


Explore the farmer's market

The local Farmer's market is a great place to go to in order to find some unique locally made products. You can find a variety of different stalls ranging from fruits, vegetables, flowers, meat, baked goods, artisan goods and even handmade ornaments. Around the Brisbane hotel apartments there are some great farmer's markets happening every weekend.


City Sounds

Each week on several locations such as the Post Office Square, The Street Mall, the South Bank and several other locations local bands, singles and touring artists perform live and anyone is welcome to watch them perform for free.


Brooklyn Standard

If you are looking for a cool place to hang out and socialise then the Brooklyn Standard is the place to go as there are live performances, food and drinks happening daily from 7.30 pm onwards. It is a great place for young and old artists to perform and a great location to hang out if you are a music lover.


Ride an old lift

The tallest building in the vicinity till the 1960s was the city hall clock tower and there is a lift that is still functioning in order to take the people up to the top. It functions every 15 minutes during the opening hours and you can have a birds eye view of the surrounding and take a look at the buildings that have now surpassed the clock tower.


Watch the sunrise

Not for the night owls, but if you would like to witness the sun light touching the land and hovering over the city with its first rays early in the morning; then you can take an early car ride to the top of Mt Coot-Tha and enjoy a tranquil view.


Daisy Hill Koala Centre

If you love animals then you will love watching these Koalas in their natural habitat. You will get to see these furry creatures living their best life and you can also find tons of information about them at the centre.
