8th March is International Women’s Day. I wanted to take some time to appreciate and celebrate some amazing achievements, careers and quotations of just a small selection of awesome women that, I believe, have made the world a better place.

Mary Wollstonecraft (1759-1797)

Writer, philosopher, feminist and advocate of women's rights and education.

“I do not wish them [women] to have power over men; but over themselves.”

Florence Nightingale (1820-1910)

Social reformer, statistician, and the founder of modern nursing.

Emmeline Pankhurst (1858-1928)

Political activist and leader of the British suffragette movement who helped women win the right to vote.

Annie Oakley (1860-1926)
