Peshawar Zalmi (Pashto: پېښور زلمي; Urdu: پشاور زلمی; English: Peshawar Youth) is a Pakistani franchise T20 cricket team which plays in the Pakistan Super League and represents Peshawar, the capital city of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.[3] The team is owned by Javed Afridi of Haier Pakistan,[1][4] who also owns the Benoni Zalmi franchise in the T20 Global League of South Africa. Peshawar Zalmi was established in 2015 following the announcement of the inaugural Pakistan Super League (PSL) by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).[4] Darren Sammy is the current captain of the team as of October 2016[5] and Mohammad Akram is the head coach.
Islamabad United (ISLU) is a Pakistani professional Twenty20 franchise cricket team that competes in Pakistan Super League. The team was formed in 2015 as a result of the formation of the Pakistan Super League by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The franchise is owned by Leonine Global Investments through its sports entity, Leonine Global Sports. The company has bought the Islamabad Franchise rights of the Pakistan Super League with a mission to create a franchise which provides a truly global experience on sports entertainment.
Lahore Qalandars (Urdu: لاہور قلندرز; Punjabi: لہور قلندرز; acronym LQ) is a Pakistani professional cricket franchise which plays in the Pakistan Super League. The home ground of the team is Gaddafi Stadium. It nominally represents the city of Lahore in the league.[1][2] The team is owned by Qatar Lubricants Company Limited (QALCO). The team is currently captained by Mohammad Hafeez and coached by Aqib Javed, a former Pakistani cricketer. Fakhar Zaman is the team's vice-captain.[3] Lahore Qalandars was the second most expensive franchise and was one of the few teams sold to an international company.[4] Fawad Rana is the owner of the team.
Multan Sultans (Urdu: مُلتان سُلطانز, Punjabi: مُلتان سُلطانز) is a Pakistani professional Twenty20 franchise cricket team, initially owned by Schön Properties. In November 2018, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) terminated the eight-year ownership rights of Multan Sultans. Ali Khan Tareen then won the rights of the team on 20 December 2018 and announced on 6 January 2019 that team would compete with the same name in the rest of the seasons. [1] The team is nominally based in Multan, and was formed in 2017 to compete in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Ali Tareen, owner of Multan consortium, again selected the Multan Sultans name for the sixth team.[2][3] Multan Cricket Stadium is the team's home ground with a capacity of 35,000.[4][5] In their inaugural season, the team was captained by Shoaib Malik,[6] who is also their current captain[7] Tom Moody and Wasim Akram was appointed as team's head coach and director respectively. [8][9] Haider Azhar was the GM- Cricket Operations while Nadeem Khan was the team's manager.[9][10] Ahead of 2019 season, Johan Botha was appointed as team's head coach, replacing Tom Moody, who withdrew from his role due to domestic commitments.
