Overview

Locally known as, 'Negeri Segantang Lada', Bintan is an island in the Riau Archipelago of Indonesia.
The island was once a prominent trading port between China and India and has been influenced by the Chinese, British, Portuguese, Dutch and Arabian occupation of the region at different times and has contributed to its rich culture and history.

Thanks to its close proximity to the equator, Bintan inherits a tropical climate surrounded by beaches that hold some of the most exotic underwater flora and fauna. Apart from these, Bintan has historical sightings influenced by its different occupiers throughout its history. Hence, without any doubt, Bintan is one of the most sought after tourist destinations in Indonesia. It is easily accessed through the sea from both Singapore and Malaysia and home to some of the most luxurious beach resorts in the region.

RICA RICA

Set within a serene and rural atmosphere, The Residence Bintan by Cenizaro has several dining options within its 127 terraces and villas open to its guests as well as anyone on the lookout for a fine dining experience. The chefs at the Residence Bintan make sure that its guests are well taken care of by providing a fresh and wholesome experience through their dishes. The dishes are presented inclusive of a variety of locally produced organic herbs and vegetables reaped from the resorts own garden. Rica Rica is open from 6pm-10pm and has a variety of spreads but known for its Indonesian cuisine.

'YEAH' LOUNGE

With a quest to introduce a unique menu, service excellence and affordable dining, the 'Yeah' group was founded in 2016. Establishing itself as a boutique store for ladies clothing, the group ventured into a mini-mart and eventually realised its real passion for food and beverages by opening its restaurant, Warung Yeah!

The Yeah Lounge was followed by the success of Warung Yeah attracting locals and holidaymakers for its authentic Indonesian cuisine and modest prices. The package is complemented by the views of the scenic Lagoi Bay Beach.

The 'YEAH' Lounge is open from 11:00 to 23:00 hours. Signature dishes include 'Chicken satay', 'Ayam penyet', 'Indomie dendeng Balado', 'Nasi goreng keroyokan', 'Gado Gado', 'Pisang goreng', 'Sego Tahu', 'Soto Lamongan', 'Tahu Telur', 'Nasi Bakar'

SAFFRON

Originating from Phuket in Thailand, it carries the same quality and selections of its signature Thai dishes preserved since its inception in 1995. As with most of the prominent Bintan Restaurants, the menu at Saffron consists of modern twists along with locally sourced ingredients. You could never go wrong with some of its signature dishes that will give you a real taste of Thai cuisine.

The Saffron is open from 18:00 to 23:00 hours. Their appetizers include 'Khong wang ruam', 'Goong sarong buer tod', 'Muek kratiem prik thai'. Salad selection include Larb Tuna, Yum Pla Salmon, Som Tum Puu Nim and curry menu goes with dishes such as 'gaeng kiew waan gai' and 'massaman nua'

  1. Kelong Seafood Restaurant and the Spice Restaurant Both the 'Kelong' and the 'Spice' are equally amazing and they provide a wholesome treat for guests of any sort. The Kelong is best known for its fresh seafood dishes. Built on stilts above the sea, the restaurant is on the western coast of nirvana gardens and has a captivating sea view.

The restaurant is open daily from 11 am to 10,30pm, their signature dishes include Gong-Gong (sea snails), Black Pepper Crab and Stir-Fried Butter Prawns which is presented in a tantalising blend of Chinese and Indonesian style cuisine.

If 'Kelong' is for seafood, then 'Spice' is for traditional Indian and Indonesian dishes. 'Spice' is located at the main lobby of Mayang Sari Beach Resort and is the go-to place for spicy Indian cuisine. It is open daily from 6.30am to 10 am for breakfast and 11.30am to 10.30pm for lunch and dinner.

Treetops

Located within a villa resort, The 'Treetops' restaurant serves up some of the most exquisite dishes on could ever taste. The dishes are prepared with the freshest ingredients by skilled chefs ensuring that you get an authentic culinary experience. Treetops open for Breakfast at 07:00– 10:30, lunch at 11:30 – 17:00 and Dinner at 18:00 – 23:00. Order your portion of Bintan Lake, Traditional Satay garnished with peanut sauce.
