Top 7 things to do in Hua Hin - Explore the sun city in Thailand

Hua Hin is the city to go to for some sun, summer time and beach time in Thailand and if you are heading to the southern city here are the top 7 things to do in Hua Hin.

1

Maruekhathaiyawan Palace

Sightseeing is one of the main things to do in Hua Hin Thailand as there are some beautiful buildings rich with cultural and historical importance. The Maruekhathaiyawan Palace like most other locations was built by the royal family in the 1920s when the royalty used to come to Hua Hin to spend summer vacations. The palace covers a large area of land for the garden and the building, which was designed by an Italian architect and contains a lot of verandas and latticework.

2

Plearn Wan Shopping Village

This shopping complex is decorated to the theme of Thailand in the 1960s and hosts shops, a café and also some guestrooms for tourists. The building is open for shopping and dining daily and if you are staying around the Anantara Hua Hin Resort, then the Plearn Wan Shopping Village is close by for a shopping day or even to go and take a look at the unique brown wooden building.

3

Hua Hin Railway Station

The railway station is not too far from the centre of the city and is undoubtedly a very interesting attraction in the city. The railway station building and the royal waiting room adjacent to the building are beautiful buildings painted in contrasting red and white colours with a well-maintained garden. The railway station is open daily from 7 in the morning till 10 in the night.

4

Cicada market

The Cicada market is an open-air market with some of the best handmade, locally sourced and made products found in Hua Hin. Even if you do not want to purchase anything it is a great experience to go to the market and browse through some of the stalls as you get to see an array of different products from multiple vendors. It is a weekend market so it functions from Friday to Sunday each week.

5

Hua Hin Night Market

The Hua Hin night market is located in the middle of the Petchkasem Road and the railway line and comes alive around 6.30 in the evening when the vendors set up their stalls and start selling different merchandise to the visitors. The road has many seafood restaurants that are known to be very popular in Hua Hin which in turn makes the night market very popular as well. You can find gift items, souvenirs, and even some street food vendors at the market on a daily basis.

6

Pharaya Nakhon Cave

It is said that the task to go to the centre of the cave is undertaken only by those who are determined and strong-willed but once they reach the location they are rewarded with a breath-taking view only brought to life in books and movies. The cave is located in Khao Sam Poi Yot National Park and is a small drive from the centre of Hua Hin.

7

Khao Takiab

Khao Takiab which is also known as 'Monkey Mountains' where you can see monkeys roaming around freely in abundance is a great location for those who seek the outdoors as you need to hike up to get to the top of the mountain. This mountain which is also referred to as the 'Chopstick Mountain' has a spectacular hilltop temple which is a stunning sight to see with the setting sun in the backdrop.
