At this place, you will find the preserved body of a Buddhist monk named Luong Pordaeng who passed away in 1973 whilst being in a seated meditative position. His body has been preserved and is displayed in a glass case here. 40 years later, the body is still in good condition with absolutely no signs of degradation. Unlike the western world, death isn't a feared concept in this part of the land as they believe it to be one step away from enlightenment. The sight of the monk gives them a thought to reflect on. You'll find many local and international tourists visiting the Wat Khunaram temple to observe the body, pray and make merit. All visitors are warmly welcome at the premises.
While this rock bears no resemblance to an actual living elephant, it is named Elephant Rock due to the sheer size of its rock formation.
