At the Koggola Turtle Hatchery you get a chance to witness the preservation of Turtles in action. Eggs are first purchased from fisherman and adequate conditions are provided for safe hatching. After this the baby turtles are protected and cared for till they are fit enough to look after themselves and then released back to the ocean.
This blissful little garden located in the outskirts of Bentota is so perfectly landscaped and combines a number of varying garden concepts. Once a rubber estate, the brief garden has been so picturesquely transformed into an Eden in Southern Sri Lanka by the very famous Bevis Bawa. While planning out the things to do in Bentota, don't miss the famous Beruwela Light House. This Light house is one of the four international lighthouses in Sri Lanka and stands tall on the famous Barberyn Island. At a majestic height of 110 feet, this structure has a commanding presence in the island and is in operation even today.
