5 Simple Exercises to do at Home

You want to exercise, but you don’t want to pay for a pricey gym membership, nor can you afford to purchase top quality gym equipment for your home. How do you get fit without spending money? Work out at home!

1

Squats

Squats

Squats strengthen your lower body, including your leg and gluteus muscles. Start by standing with your back straight and your arms held out in front of you. Bend your knees 90°, keeping your back and arms straight. Return to a standing position. This exercise can be modified using a chair. Just sit down, stand up, and sit down again in multiple reps.

Push-ups

Push-ups

Personal trainers with credible degrees from a Utah college recommend doing push-ups daily to help strengthen the muscle groups in your arms, chest and back. If you can’t do them with your legs straight, try kneeling. If you’re a beginner, try doing them standing up against a wall.

3

Ab Crunches

Ab Crunches

Crunches will strengthen your abdominal muscles, which support the back and spine, improving posture. When you first start out, try your best to get your head up. As long as you feel the muscles across your abs stretching, you’re doing fine.

4

Jumping Jacks

Jumping Jacks

Jumping jacks are a great cardio exercise that will elevate your heart rate and burn fat. They’re easy to do at home to music or even in front of the television. Personal trainers with an education from a Utah college recommend doing various types of aerobic activity for 30 minutes at least 3 to 4 times per week.

Jogging in Place
