Des Moines Area

Des Moines Area

Des Moines is the capitol of Iowa and has several smaller cites around it, making up the greater Des Moines area. Downtown Des Moines and dozens of restaurants and boutiques. Some of the most popular ones are Zombie Burger & Drink Lab, The Cheese Shop, Centro, Raygun, and Vanity & Glamour. Good places to eat around the greater Des Moines area include Vandees Ice Cream in Johnston, Palmers Deli in Urbandale, Tasy Tacos in West Des Moines, B-Bops in Urbandale, and Jethros BBQ. Des Moines also has Jordan Creek Mall, which is Iowa's largest mall, an outdoor ice skating rink in downtown, and lots of picture opportunities.

Ames, home of Iowa State University. Ames is known for being a college town, but it also has a historic down town as well. There are trees everywhere and the winding roads make it seem homey.

The bridges are located around the outskirts of Winterset, but thats not the only hidden gem in this small Southwest Iowa town. Winterset also has an ice cream shop called Frostee's and people from neighboring towns travel to eat their delicious burgers and ice cream.

Dubuque Iowa is located right on the Iowa- Illinois boarder and looks over the Mississippi River. The town of Dubuque is filled with steep hills that make perfect postcard pictures. The houses are mostly victorian style houses, so if you love history, Dubuque is the place for you!
