Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables

Undoubtedly, this is the first thing to do as fruits and vegetables are known to have a higher nutritional value and are a good source of cleansers. Ayurveda is mostly about bioavailable food and this means, whenever possible, eat cooked ingredients as this makes it easier for the body to digest and process.

Drink healthy

This means to avoid or at least minimise the consumption of alcohol, caffeine and carbonated drinks. Instead, drink plenty of water which helps the body to flush out toxins and keep it well hydrated. Warm or room-temperature water is best. Opt for herbal teas which are known to help alleviate many symptoms such as congestion, restlessness and etc.

Cut off processed food

Processed food has been associated with multiple health concerns as they contain many artificial chemicals. Stop feeding your body these unnecessary toxic substances. Instead, start eating organic food that is good for the health. The more naturally occurring food you eat, the healthier the body will be.

Say "NO" to food fads

At present, there are plenty of new methods of diets that are advertised as guaranteed to work. Do not fall for this gimmick. Everyone's body is unique and what works for one, doesn't necessarily work for another.

Add some spice

Spices are meant for greater things other than just add flavour and aroma to a dish; they are also known to be therapeutic. Some spices help boost natural immunity and even help with digestion, making it efficient for our body to absorb the nutrients. An ideal meal, according to Ayurveda, should contain six flavours: sour, sweet, bitter, salty, pungent and astringent.

Cleanse from inside out

A facial cleanser is used to remove impurities from the skin. Likewise, the internal body also contains many impurities that need to be flushed out which otherwise would cause many disorders. Therefore, take precautions and adopt a healthier meal lifestyle; refrain from eating late dinners, drink plenty of water, eat a well-balanced diet, drink fresh juices and detox teas.
