Old Airport Road Food Centre

This food centre is set-up on the old runway of Kallang Airport; less than 6 km from Citadines Mount Sophia Singapore, this place is very popular amongst the locals who patronise the place in droves. The centre is loved for its collection of cheap tasty food which is fast gaining popularity amongst tourists too. The first level consists of 150 stalls with more located on the second level. Popular stalls, which generally have long queues, are Dong Ji Fried Kway Teow, Xin Mei Xiang Lor Mee and Nam Sing Fried Hokkien Mee. Maxwell Food Centre

Located within the Chinatown district, the Maxwell Food Centre is easy to reach from well-located Singapore apartment hotels and exceedingly popular amongst visitors and locals. The place holds its place in the spotlight, ever since celebrity chef Gordon Ramsey tasted the Hainanese Chicken Rice at Tian Tian Chicken Rice, which has since then earned Michelin Bib-gourmand and is one of the must-try dishes there. Tekka Centre

Located in Little India the first level of the Tekka Centre is home to a range of stalls offering one the delights of south and north Indian cuisine. Head over to Allauddins for probably the best biriyani you will taste while the masala thosai sold at Sri Tiffin is pretty tantalizing. The origins of the name Tekka is from the Hokkien dialect, translating to 'foot of the bamboos' which is in reference to the large number of bamboo trees growing along the Rochor Canal. You may want to take back some dishes to savour later at your comfy apartment hotel in Singapore.

Tiong Bahru Food Centre

Most of the hawker food stalls at Tiong Bahru have been rewarded with The Plate Awards and Michelin Bib-Gourmand status. There are 85 stalls to choose from, simply look for the ones with the longest queues to choose the best. Steamed rice cakes are pretty popular for breakfast; a favourite for this is Jian Bo Shui Kueh.
