This sign is actually a section of the popular Federation Walk of this town. The Federation Walk is a pathway of one kilometre where you can leisurely take a nature stroll in. It took nearly four years to complete this walkway which winds itself around the Grosvenor Creek and local animals.

In the year of 1995, Australia commemorated the fiftieth year of the end of World War II by dedicating the Moranbah Commemorative Clock. The clock is perched on top of a three-meter metal post that has a concrete base. The base also displays three badges of service, one of the Air Force, Army and the Navy. The 4th side of the base displays a memorial plaque. Both the Moranbah RSL Sub Branch and Australia Remembers committee came together to bring about this clock.
