The Peak

As the name suggests, this is the highest point of the island and therefore, the best way to view the beautiful city and its looming skyscrapers and the rugged mountains. It is only a less than fifteen-minute drive from many a Hong Kong hotel the likes of Dorsett Wanchai Hong Kong for example. The Peak It can be reached via the tram, known as the Peak Tram, which passes above the city's towers at a height of 1,300 feet above sea level. The best vantage point at The Peak is the viewing platform at the Peak Tower. If you are interested to get a much better view, a short hike of 3.5 km around the Peak Circle will take you to a point from where you can get the best bird's eye view of this incredible city.

The Big Buddha

Also referred to as the Tian Tan Buddha locally, is situated in Lantau Island which is only an hour away from the city and is home to one of the most iconic landmarks of Hong Kong; a statue of Lord Buddha that sits about 34 metres high. Getting to the statue is a slightly tiring process as you have to climb about 268 steps. However, it is very much worth it. Right next to the statue is the beautiful Po Lin Monastery, a well-known and important Buddhist shrines in the world. After this, head over to the nearby village, Ngong Ping Village, and refuel yourself with a traditional vegetarian meal.

Victoria Harbour Cruise Tour

This is a forty-five-minute cruise that will take you along the Victoria Harbour to discover the beauty and intoxicating skyline views of the city. The tour is mandatory in any of the Hong Kong shopping & sightseeing list. Enjoy a glass of your favourite cocktail while you lay back in one of the lounge beds and soak in the beauty of the bright neon lights of the buildings and the arrays of sunset colours reflecting on the water. It is highly recommended to take the cruise during sunset or after for the best picturesque experience. It makes for a great romantic date idea as well.

Man Mo Temple

This is a mid-19th-century historic building that is also a national monument. The temple is dedicated to Man Cheong, known as the God of literature, and Mo Tai, the God of war. It is, therefore, not surprising to know that many students come here before their exams to pray for good luck. The temple is open every day from 8 am until 6 pm.

Ocean Park Hong Kong

This is one of the most loved theme parks in the city; even more than Disneyland! It is home to many adrenaline spiking rollercoaster rides. During Halloween, some of the rides are turned into scarier ones which attract many people from around the world. The park is situated in the southern part of Hong Kong and is also home to two giant pandas who are named Ying Ying and Le Le. So, do pay a visit to them and say hello!
