Don't replace the cabinets! Unless you have newer or high quality wood cabinets, paint them! There are tons of paint and glaze options available, the varieties, colors, and brands are endless. Make sure to thoroughly clean the cabinets with tsp (found at any paint or discount store) sand, prime, then paint and allow to dry thoroughly before putting hardware and doors back on. A little work, but a HUGE reward for a couple of cans of paint.
