5 Things to keep on mind when looking for an Apartment - A quick guide!

Are you moving into a new place? This could be a daunting task as you are now willingly about to leave a place you have become accustomed to. Challenging as it is, this could be a good experience if you know what to keep in mind when looking for an apartment.

1

Mobile Reception

Mobile phones are one of the vital things that lets us communicate with friends, family and work. With a ton of tasks to be done every day with the assistance of mobile phones, it is highly important you check for good reception at your new place. Start calling from different parts of the house, bedroom, kitchen, living and dining room to check for reception. If that's good, then surely you're off to a good start. If you are looking to buy an apartment in Sri Lanka, you can check out the Elysian Realty Mirissa for a luxury lifestyle.

2

Water Pressure

The next thing on the list is water pressure which is very often overlooked when buying your new apartment. This part is crucial as having bad water pressure and water temperature in the mornings when getting ready for work will get you all grumpy. If you find issues with this, then it's better to ask your landlord about it and have it fixed before you move into your apartment.

3

Pest Control

Pests can ruin your place of stay. And humans aren't the only ones who claim apartments as a home. There are other living creatures like termites, rodents and bugs all claiming a share. This is a massive problem as getting rid of it can be both cumbersome and pricey. Not to mention unhygienic. Therefore, start checking for pests by looking for holes and cracks on the walls and floor. Look inside the cupboards and on top of them for faecal material. That is usually a good indicator for unwanted visitors in the house. If you aren't satisfied with your inspection, you can ask the person in charge for copies of any pest control treatment that was done on the apartment. And if you do detect any pests, it's good to have it mentioned in your lease.

4

Night Visit

Are you satisfied with your day visit? Then now is the time for a night visit. Although, all things can look safe and calm during the daytime, the night, however, can make things change drastically. Always pay a visit at night and check the neighbourhood. You do not want your new home to be in a dark and dingy area. Another reason to visit at night would be to check the lighting. Not only at your place but also around the parking space and other areas.

5

Neighbours

Talk to the neighbours to have an idea about the good, the bad, and the best about the area they are living. They've been living there for some time and can easily point out things you want to know about. This will make it easy for you to assess if this is your new home, or not.
