NoF is a great rock club located in the centre of Florence. Lesser known to tourists than some others on the list and slightly hidden away it’s the perfect place to experience live music surrounded by locals. With an incredible atmosphere, superb live bands and cheap drinks this is one of the best places you can visit if you’re looking for authentic Italian rock and roll and a fantastic night out.
Opera was invented in Florence in the 16th century, so there isn’t a better place in the world to visit to see it, and as far as opera houses go Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, is top of the list in Florence. Having long been a top venue known as the Opera di Firenze, this newly rebuilt and rebranded venue is a sight to behold, and it’s acoustics coupled with fantastic opera make for a spine-tingling experience well worth checking out.
La Cité is a library and café in Florence, by day it’s a relaxed venue mostly populated by students and a perfect place to study or work and drink coffee in a nice environment. By night… it’s pretty much the same, but there’s live music, usually relaxing acoustic and folk music it makes for a great place to sit back, relax and enjoy your evening while listening to local music and offers a different experience to the other venues on the list.
The Jazz Club in Florence is a popular spot to listen to local jazz musicians in an intimate setting. The club is often very busy on the weekends but through the week tends to be much quieter and more relaxed so you should pick when you visit based on whatever suits you, regardless of when you go you’re sure to be met with some good old-fashioned jazz, great cocktails and music loving locals in a lovely quaint club.
