How to make Pavers: 9 steps

Making anything on your own gives you a different sense of happiness and contentment. Why go for something machine-made that lacks both personalization and uniqueness when you can create magic on your own? And this same rule applies for pavers – why not create your own pavers, rather than settling for the limited options the professionals offer you, especially when it's easy and super fun to do! So here are 9 simple steps which will help you make your own pavers!

MATERIALS REQUIRED

MATERIALS REQUIRED

• A mould
• Ready-made concrete mix
• Water
• Non-stick cooking spray
• A rag
• Customized decoration items

STEP 1

STEP 1

Find a mould. It can be of any shape, so you need not go in for the same old rectangular ones. Pick a different frame that suits not only your planned patio design but also your quirky taste. Just make sure the mould is at least 2 inches thick, to have pavers of adequate thickness. Visit this website to know more about paving.

STEP 2:

Next, you need to prepare the concrete that you have to pour in your mould. For this, you have to mix a ready-made concrete mix, consisting of the perfect composition of mortar or sand mix with enough water. Keep mixing till you get a proper clay-like consistency.

STEP 3

STEP 3

Now prep your mould for the incoming concrete – spray it with non-stick cooking spray. This will help you later when the moulds are ready to be taken out.

5

STEP 4

STEP 4

Start pouring your concrete mix in the mould. Make sure you pour it evenly and leave no space for any bubbles. Move the mould as required to ensure all the concrete settles in evenly.

6

STEP 5:

STEP 5:

Wipe off any extra concrete with the rag you have to give your mould finishing.

STEP 6

STEP 6

Now comes the time where you can freely let out your creativity! Either stamp the pavers with your favorite symbol ( leaves, flowers or any such stamps are perfect) or stick into them colored stones or pebbles in a pattern you wish to make on them! Till the concrete is wet, you have time – so it's better you plan the decoration part before you begin making the pavers.

STEP 7

STEP 7

After you're done with the toppings to your pavers, you now have to set them aside to dry for exactly 48 hours. They will be perfectly done until then. Turn over the mould and tap out the paver – it will come off easily.

STEP 8

STEP 8

Now cover the paver with a wet cloth and set it aside for two weeks.

After the two weeks, your pavers are now ready! Use them where you want to – place them where you wish to according to your plan!
It's a fun process – making these pavers on your own and then showing them off! Hope you have fun!
