Visit Wat Pho

This is a must visit for anyone travelling to Bangkok. There is a large reclining Buddha statue which is around 15 metres tall. The statue is coated with a gold leaf. There are 108 bowls inside the temple that resembles the 108 actions Buddha did to become Enlighted. You can buy coins from the entrance to put into these bowls.

Go to the Grand Palace

This is the most famous attraction in Bangkok. Be prepared to spend your whole day here as the palace is spread over an area of 214,000 square metres. This was the home of the king and where the high-ranking government officials work. This is an iconic building in Bangkok and any traveller simply must visit here.

Take the sky train

Travelling in Bangkok is made a lot easier with sky trains. These trains travel high above the ground level and you can get a good view of Bangkok. Since there is no traffic, the trains travel on direct routes. There are train stations everywhere in the city. Many Bangkok apartment hotels and other luxury hotels the likes of Adelphi Forty-Nine have terminals near them.

Shop in the Chatuchak Market

Visit one of the biggest markets in Bangkok and shop till you drop. This market has more than 8000 stalls spread over 27 acres. The market is open only on weekends and there are more than 200,000 visitors coming here a day. In Chatuchak, you can find anything under the sun and what's best is that they are sold at local prices. The highlight of Chatuchak is the colourful umbrellas you see from above.

The Chao Phraya River flows through the city of Bangkok making it look like a part of Venice. There are many ferries going down the streams and river. Many people use these ferries to go to work. The Bangkok National Museum carries some of the most impressive artefacts of Thailand. The museum was built by Rama V, a king that ruled Thailand.
