The Halloween is right around the corner and it’s the perfect time to organize original class to make the students’ day memorable and exciting.
It is accepted to organize Halloween activities and parties after classes. But why not to show students that they can have a lot of fun and interesting moments in the classroom either?
So, let’s go through some of the cool Halloween ideas that can be applied in the classroom on Halloween day.

Conduct your regular class in a halloween haunted classroom. Create an appropriate atmosphere decorating the classroom with carved pumpkins, ghosts, bats and spiders. It’s also acceptable time to let students come to school dressed up as famous characters from movies, cartoons, different scary stories, etc. Eerie music can also be a suitable element to be incorporated into this “scary program”. It will be an original class, which students will never forget.

2

Presentation

Presentation

Almost all of the students celebrate Halloween, but not all of them know the origin of the holiday. So, on Halloween day you can organize presentation class by dividing students into groups and assigning them some research work to gather as much information as possible about Halloween. Then each group will prepare creatively designed presentation based on their research topic and will introduce to the whole class. It will be interesting and exciting class for all the students.

Halloween quiz

A quiz on halloween day can also be an exciting and fun way to celebrate the holiday on classroom. Tell your students to do some research and gather as much info on the holiday and its origin as possible. Prepare online quiz through Swift Polling, which will include Halloween-related questions to check how well students worked. After the quiz you can show real-time results on the big screen and start a discussion. This class will add value to their knowledge on the Halloween day and will engage all the students.

4

Group work

Group work

Surprise your students: when the class starts, divide them into two or three competing groups and ask to do some research on Halloween during the defined time. They should find facts about the holiday and after the research one student from each group will represent their findings. The group which will find more facts than the others, will win. You can also prepare surprises for groups in order to make the “competition” more exciting to students.

5

Halloween acrostic

Halloween acrostic

It will be interesting if you assign students to choose a word related to the Halloween day, such as pumpkin, ghost, witch or similar words and write funny acrostic poems. The classroom can be decorated with halloween-related items such as pumpkins, bats, etc. in order to create an appropriate atmosphere. During the class each student will read his or her funny acrostic poem and present one fact regarding the holiday. It’s a cool idea, as a class like this will be both funny and cognitive for students.
