5 Movies To Summon The Magic Inside You

Halloween is coming, and nowadays esoterism is a popular topic amongst people in their twenties and thirties. If you were born in the nineties, I'm sure you've seen some of these movies. If you are too young to remember, download them and enjoy the watch. What is the common topic? Witches. We love them. We want to be dressed like them. And we want her powers (only the good ones)-

1

Practical Magic

Practical Magic

This one is my favorite. The power of magic, a love story, the pain of grieving, strong women within a small community, most of them hate these girls, mostly out of ignorance. The small town is lovely, their style is a-ma-zing (long hair and maxi skirts, my oh my) and Nicole Kidman’s hair is incredible. The House, drinking margaritas at 3 am. Come on, you wanted to be a witch, too.

2

The Witches

The Witches

Anjelica Huston does an incredible job playing the role of the villain (she always does). By the way: can I have her skin?. I remember watching this movie as a kid and being amazed by that hotel. It was enormous, spooky, and an excellent scenario for the story to tell. That is one thing I love about movies from the nineties: they knew well how to pick a location.

3

The Craft

The Craft

One thing I love the most about esoteric films from the nineties is the sense of style everyone had. It is like, besides having a gift and getting revenge from your enemies, the combo comes with knowing how to pull a fantastic outfit. And this movie is the perfect example. Four witches, with different backstories, coming from different ethnicities and motivations, create a coven while managing to get good grades at school.

4

Beastly

Beastly

This is like a modern adaptation from Beauty and the Beast, but I like the fact that they managed to maintain the idea of sending a message to everyone. Beauty is not important. What matters the most is being a good person. And, again, they managed to give our witch (Mary-Kate Olsen, how come they didn't use both of them?) the highest heels ever. Try casting a spell while wearing those. That is what I call multitasking.

5

Harry Potter (all of them)

Harry Potter (all of them)

Unless you live under a rock, you must at least know one of these movies. Harry Potter was the book that most of the kids read for the first time, their first knowledge of magic. And these one gives you several examples of what is like being a good and a wicked witch. Of course, my favorite is Hermione Granger. She is smart, caring, sensible and a total badass. And she gets what she wants working hard, not taking advantage of her intelligence.
