History: If we are today a compounding pioneer with a production capacity across materials of over 125,000 MT per annum and the largest polymer raw material supplier for Indian manufacturers of automotive components, a lion’s share of the credit goes to our Founder, Chairman and Managing Director, Mr. Inder Jain, who established APPL Plastic Engineering a quarter-of-a-century ago. Starting out with plants at Manesar in Haryana and at Hinjewadi in Pune, Mr. Inder Jain went on to institute factories at Koregaon, Bhima and Hinjewadi in Pune and Sriperumbudur in Chennai, as also warehouses at Bengaluru, Chennai and Ahmedabad. He showed immense foresight in setting up a plant at Dahej in Gujarat, especially to cater to exports. Ecoair Cooling System Pvt.Ltd.
A 100 per cent subsidiary of APPL, ECOAIR was formed exclusively for industrial cooling systems. Today, ECOAIR is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambitious “Make in India” campaign. ECOAIR specialises in air coolers that are more centralised cooling systems than air-conditioning systems with the added advantage of cost. These systems can bring down temperatures to about 20-degree C and typically function by sucking in hot air and throwing it out while also throwing in cool air. While temperatures mainly depend on the surroundings, they can be controlled. Restaurants in Pune such as Farzi Cafe and several Café Coffee Day (CCD) outlets boast the ECOAIR cooling system.
Lately, ECOAIR has come up with a new product – HVLS (high volume, low speed) fan, which is so big, it looks like a helicopter propeller and has nearly 24-feet-long blades. A single HVLS fan covers 25,000 feet. These fans mostly find use in warehouses where air circulation is a problem. Interestingly, ECOAIR HVLS fans are already in use at the Mahindra workshop, Mumbai CST, and Delhi station. Plans are afoot to move into bigger, more public spaces such as airports and so on.

With RossEnce’s expertise in LFT technology and APPL’s reach in the automotive and household sectors, the first LFT™ production line has already been set up at the Pune plant. Trials are underway and the combined entity, APPL RossEnce, is set to boast a final capacity of 5K ton. APPL RossEnce applications will cover the entire gamut of defence, railway, aerospace, and household appliances. Manufacturing is set to begin in October/November 2017.
