Abu Dhabi is a cultural hub that showcases the UAE's rich history and culture and it is also home to a myriad of entertainment attractions. Listed are some things you must do while visiting Abu Dhabi.

Sheikh Zayed Palace Museum

Built-in 1910 for UAE's first president, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his family, the Sheikh Zayed Palace Museum is located on the western boundary of the Al Ain Oasis park. People who visit the museum are able to take a glimpse into the gardens, courtyards, sleeping rooms and meeting rooms that Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of UAE lived in.

Al Ain camel souk

Located near the UAE-Oman border the Al Ain camel souk is one of the only remaining camel markets that follow ancient traditions. Visitors are able to experience firsthand, how camel merchants conducted their dealings for centuries. You can even take pictures of camels; often referred to as the sheep of the dessert. Tourists are advised to dress modestly as the camel market is a conservative place that is run exclusively by male merchants.

Ferrari world

Located on the Yas island of Abu Dhabi, Ferrari world is the home to the world's fastest roller coaster - Formula Rossa. The Ferrari branded theme park opened its doors to the public in 2010 and won the Leading Tourist attraction in the Middle East award at the World Travel Awards form 2015-2018. The park has more than 20 attractions that guarantee fun for the entire family.

Marina Mall

In addition to being home to several luxurious 5 star hotels, Abu Dhabi is also home to several mega malls such as Marina Mall that give tourists the chance to shop till they drop! Marina Mall has more than 400 shops and also includes an ice rink, a bowling alley and a state-of-the-art movie cinema. The food court at Marina mall is a massive floor that sells a huge variety of food. The observation deck at the top of the Marina Mall is not to be missed as it provides a mesmerizing view of the Persian Gulf.

Heritage Village

Located near Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara, the Heritage Village is a great place to visit if you want to learn about the heritage and culture of Abu Dhabi. Workshops in the village conduct demonstration on how the metal and weaving merchants used to earn their keep. The village also has shops that sell spices, local crafts, and restaurants to grab a quick bite.

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

With more than a thousand columns and more than 80 domes, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is one of the world's largest mosques. Construction of this mosque was started by Sheik Zayad in 1996 and ended in 2007. The white and gold mosque is one of Abu Dhabi's main attractions that locals and tourists both come to visit. Although this is a relatively new attraction, this is a must-see place if you want to get an understanding of the Abu Dhabi's identity and the unique contemporary architectural style that is influenced by Islam. Visitors are expected to dress modestly and women need to cover their head at all times.
