The television series provides high-quality cultural, educational, arts entertainment, sports, and innovative public affairs programming featuring documentaries and thought-provoking roundtable discussions.
A four-time Emmy Award-winning show highlighting the Hispanic population is being reimagined and brought back to life after seven years. Images/Imágenes went off the air in 2011 when New Jersey Network ceased operations and all of its programming was either dissolved or moved to other institutions.
When William Sanchez started curating the Hispanic Youth Showcase, a talent competition for Latino and Latina youth throughout New Jersey and around the country, 27 years ago, there was no “American Idol,” or “Dancing with the Stars.”
“There was ‘Star Search,’ which gave me the idea,” the Emmy-winning television producer and community activist said. “But we wanted to find a way to gear it towards Hispanic kids.”
The venerable award winning show turns a quarter century. Hosted by past winners Isabel Rodriguez, Emma Rosa Bigelow, Veronica Kole, Anthony Fania and Keila Perez-Vega, this television special serves as a showcase for youth of Hispanic Heritage.
William Q. Sanchez has served at the helm for 25 years of the show that has launched the careers of numerous movie, television, Broadway and recording stars.
