Looking for places to eat Paleo in Richmond, VA? This list is for you!
The Daily uses organic, all natural, local and sustainable ingredients as much as possible and have many vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and Paleo options. What I really like about The Daily is their entire menu is marked to indicate gluten-free, vegan, Paleo, etc. For an appetizer, try the crab stack with heirloom tomatoes, avocado, dill, and cucumber-avocado puree. For entrees try the Polyface Roasted Half chicken and sub out the garlic mashed potatoes or the Seared Salmon with roasted cauliflower and sub out the fava beans.
New Zealand inspired gastro pub serving award-winning gourmet burgers. Silver Fern Farms in New Zealand is the exclusive supplier of their pasture raised, 100% grass fed, Black Angus beef. With the same guidelines, Ovation provides 100% grass fed free range New Zealand lamb. The commitment to using only the best quality, all natural ingredients continues throughout our menu with organic, hormone free, cage free chicken from Shenandoah Valley. Try the Aucklander burger without the cheese on a lettuce bun or the French Chick without the Brie on a lettuce bun as well. For sides, try the pan-seared brussel sprouts, roasted sweet potatoes with rosemary, or the sauteed mushrooms.
First Watch is a great choice for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Try the A.M. Superfoods Bowl with coconut milk chia seed pudding topped with fresh bananas, berries, and blackberrie - leave off the granola and sub the toast for a side of eggs. For lunch, try the Heritage Pork Chop & Eggs - the pork chop is straight from Compart Family Farms and the eggs are cage-free.
Urban Farmhouse uses only sustainably grown and freshly roasted coffees and fair trade teas. Their produce is locally sourced and their meats are naturally raised. Try one of their tasty sandwiches - all can be made on gluten-free bread! My favorites are the Almond Butter and Jelly made from blueberry preserves from Rocky Branch Farm in Jetersville, VA and the BL&VA T - Hanover tomatoes with crisp Virginia bacon and lettuce.
Offering healthy, eclectic cuisine designed to appeal to a broad range of tastes. Try the Skinny Cobb salad with romaine, avocado, cucumber, pickled onion, almonds and balsamic smoked honey vinaigrette (hold the gorgonzola) or the Seared Salmon with seasonable vegetable saute, baby spinach, and a lemon herb vinaigrette.
Located in Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, the seasonal menus at Tazza Kitchen highlight exceptional ingredients and wood-fired cooking. For an appetizer, try the Okra with roasted garlic or the Mussels with chorizo and fresh herbs (hold the toast). For entrees, try the Roasted Spaghetti Squash with black garlic and toasted pine nuts (no farro).
Serving cuisine inspired by southern classics with a twist, Toast's large menu offers a wide variety and selection. Toast has a gluten-free menu and dedicated gluten-free fryer (all their pizzas and sandwiches can be served gluten-free). For a starter, try the Bacon Brussel Sprouts with bacon and balsamic reduction (hold the parmesan). For entrees, try the Sweet Tea Chicken with sauteed kale and veggies and sub the mashed potatoes for apple slaw.
