Johor is separated by a kilometre long stretch of sea from Singapore. Malaysia's southernmost state, Johor is also home to Southeast Asia's very first Legoland. Also awaiting you are island getaways and glam adventures, although these listed little gems are the best attractions.

Enjoy the Theme Parks and Fun Towns

Apart from the very famous Legoland of Johor, there are a number of theme parks and fun entertainment venues one can visit. Nusajaya for instance is home to the Sanrio Hello Kitty Town, which really is a whole town themed on the beloved character. Johor Bahru also boasts an Angry Birds theme park while those hankering an adrenaline fix can test their skills at PERMAS go-kart arena, home to a 1.4km track. Some of the most fun things to do in Johor Bahru are found at these parks, easy to access from a well-located Johor hotel.

Canopy Tribes, Ulu Sungai

Canopy Tribes allows one to get up close and personal with nature. Firefly Valley Leisure Park

Another gem of an attraction in Kota Tinggi, this theme park is one of the few places you will be enchanted by fireflies lighting up the night. A rare treat in a modern world of concrete jungles, Firefly Valley theme park offers a unique experience, especially the firefly cruise which is a 45 minute cruise along the Johor River.

Zenxing Organic Park

The largest organic farm in Malaysia, the 100 acre Zenxing Park is a great escape from the confines of the city, and a good place to relax. The place is both a recreational and research facility, where you can join a tour, explore the place on your own, taste some of the delicious fresh produce, especially the fruits and visit the greenhouse. The park also functions as a restaurant, a flower nursery and a produce market. A great place for a family visit the park ensures you get loads of sunshine, and exposure to the great outdoors.

Desaru Ostrich Farm

Popularly known as the 'Gold Coast of Malaysia' this is a beach and resort town in Kota Tinggi. The pleasant addition to this beach resort is the ostrich farm housing over 100 birds. On visiting the farm you will be taken on a tour of the place for a comprehensive gist of what goes on there. The tour covers, sights of ostriches laying eggs, the incubation process and hatching. Offering one a chance to enjoy close encounters with the birds the farm is a great family visit attraction. Watch those fingers though!
