Three of the points at Snapper Rock (Rainbow Bay, Durranbah and Kirra) forms the Superbank. It is the collection of the best surfing spots in all of Gold Coast. If you are a pro at surfing, this is the place for you to visit over the vacation. The Quicksilver Pro annual surfing competition is also held at the Snapper Rock. The location is best for avid surfers only as the waves can be huge. The breaks at the right of Snapper Rock is the reason for the large and hollow barrels that can only be tackled by veterans.

If you're an inexperienced surfer or an intermediate this is the best place for you. The Rainbow Bay is a great place for families as well as there is a sheltered area for swimming closer to the shore. The bay is patrolled all year round so it is safe as well. You can book yourself and your family a surfing session from the many schools in the vicinity. You can walk along the coast to Point Danger to see the vistas. If you're visiting the bay anytime during May and November, you can spot the humpback whales. Any Coolangatta resort at Gold Coast the likes of Oaks Calypso Plaza will have amazing seafood dishes. An alfresco dinner overlooking the bay will be the best way to end the day.

The Currumbin Alley is also known as 'The Alley' gives you world-class waves and it undoubtedly becomes the most famous break of the Gold Coast. It is another surf spot for avid surfers as there is a quite nice right-hand break. Beginners also can use the spot as the southern onshore winds protect the alley. Currumbin is located 5 minutes away from the Coolangatta Airport.

The beach is fondly called as D- Bah by the locals and it is one of the best places to surf around Gold Coast. The beach is great all year round even when the conditions are unfavourable to large swells. There are many international and local surfing competitions held at D-Bah due to this reason. After an intense surf-session, head uphill where there are many Fish and Chips shacks. Watching the sunset while munching on the deep-fried goodies is the best way to end your day at the Duranbah Beach.

The Burleigh Heads has three large breaks and at the right conditions, they all connect to make magnificent waves. They are guaranteed to give you a long and fantastic ride. The barrels at Heads are large, hollow and thick and suit pro surfers only. However, if you're a beginner you've got nothing to worry. There are plenty of surf schools which allow you to train at Burleigh Head.
