In order to create and maintain collaborative projects, building relationships proves vital. There are many different ways to accomplish collaborative relationships. For example, during the first week of school, our staff had to come in for a tech meeting in the library. For the meeting, we provided soothing music, cucumber sandwiches, and door prizes like lotions and body wash. We called it our "spa" day.
Many of our schools will do a library/technology open house expo, allowing librarians and technology facilitators to demonstrate the resources available to teachers. Hosting an expo allows teachers to try new apps and devices in a non-threatening way.
On Monday I will begin my new job. As I've mentioned before, I will be working as a Technology Resource Specialist as well as teaching a couple of classes. As always, I am nervous and excited for the first day of school, and eager to meet a new group of students.
