Get ready to fall in love with this quintessential family-centric town!

Needham is a delightful residential town in Norfolk County, Massachusetts. It is a suburb of Boston. It is located on rocky uplands within a loop of the Charles River. Almost half of the households here are married families with children.

It developed slowly as a town of farming, grazing, and small water-powered mills. Before the 20th century, knitwear manufacturing was the town’s economic backbone. After World War II and with the opening of Route 128, Needham gained access to the developing electronics industry.

As part of Boston’s metropolitan area, Needham is surrounded by similar suburban communities. It is bordered by Wellesley, West Roxbury, Newton, Dover, Dedham and Westwood.
